TWO full-time attendants are to look after public toilets in Darlington following an £80,000 refurbishment.
The toilet block under the indoor market has undergone a major renovation with investment from Darlington Borough Council.
As well as enhancing the appearance of the toilets, the refurbishment work has improved access for disabled people and there are now baby-changing facilities.
In order to ensure the maintenance and security of the toilets, the council has announced there will be one male and one female attendant on duty throughout the week.
The employees will begin working next month and will work from 9am to 7pm from Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 7pm on Saturdays, and on Sundays from 10am to 7pm.
