ENGINEERING consultants White Young Green (WYG) has been appointed to work on a £4.4m development in the region.
The firm's Teesside office has been commissioned to provide environmental, civil and structural engineering expertise for a food processing park at the Tanners Bank area of North Shields, North Tyneside.
WYG regional director Colin Fenby said: "Our environmental division was involved in undertaking the initial brownfield site investigation works when the project began in January 2005.
"We carried out exploratory work to establish the extent of the site contamination and then prepared technical proposals, specifications for the remediation and grading of the site."
The food-processing park is part of a regeneration initiative of historic Fish Quay.
WYG is working on the project over the next 11 months with the council's building design agency and main contractor Rok.
