A SCHEME to teach youngsters about motorcycle safety has been relaunched.
The Richmond Area Motorcycle Project will restart with new equipment next month after a lapse of several years.
The initiative includes a five-week course teaching road safety, motorcycle riding skills and off-road riding techniques.
Funding has been provided by Richmond Community Safety Partnership and Catterick Community Education.
Training will be given by North Yorkshire Police, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and a team of youth workers.
Gill Morrissey, acting district manager for Catterick Community Education, said: "I was a youth worker at Catterick Youth Centre the first time this initiative ran and saw first-hand the enjoyment, experience and confidence that the young people gained from their participation in the project.
"I'm delighted to be in a position to work with our partner organisations to relaunch what is a fantastic opportunity for young people.
"I very much look forward to seeing this project flourish again."
Young people aged 13 and over from the Richmondshire area can take part in the project.
Bikes and protective clothing will be provided.
