AHEAD of an important double header against two of the four teams below them in the League One table, Hartlepool United boss Martin Scott insists his side have nothing to fear.

Pool take on Blackpool at Victoria Park tomorrow before travelling to Rotherham in eight days.

Pool have taken four points from the pair already this season, and that's the minimum return Scott requires this time around.

Last week's late draw at Swansea gave the Pool squad a big lift and Scott admitted: "If we had lost 1-0 last week, I would have been gutted - for the fans and players.

"No-one in this division scares us, and that's not having a dig at any team because I've the utmost respect for the likes of Swansea, Southend and Brentford.

"Nobody has really played us off the park and made us look second best for 90 minutes.

"We haven't got the points we should have and we know the reason why.

"We haven't got the goals we should have. It's as simple as that, but when the players show the effort and commitment, we will pick up.''

Scott, who won't include Adam Boyd in the squad tomorrow after the striker scored from the spot in the midweek reserve win at Hull on his long-awaited return from injury, has taken great heart from the draw six days ago.

He admitted: "This season we have had two good performances against Swansea, who are at the top end of the table. We drew at Victoria Park in a game we should have won and we drew last week in a game we could have won.

"I was very proud of the players last week because they put in a good performance when no-one expected them to get anything.

"We had a couple of hundred fans there and it was nice to reward them. We know what's gone on, we have hit the lows at times this year and we appreciate all the support we get at home and away.

"We know it's been tough on them this season, but we want to reward them for their support.''
