NETWORKING conferences for Hambleton businesswomen could become a regular event following the success of the inaugural event.

More than 50 people visited the Springboard Business Centre, in Stokesley, for the first Inspire event.

It saw exhibitions from 13 women-led businesses, including an organic skincare company and a creative floristry business.

Life coach Juliette Lee and farmer's wife turned Internet underwear retailer Sally Robinson delivered lectures and the 50 delegates were able to network with like-minded women.

Business centre manager, Carol Campbell said: "We know there are many very successful female-led businesses in Hambleton but there are also lots of women out there with great ideas just waiting for the right opportunity to come along.

"We want to give them a helping hand.

"This first event was organised to test the water, but we have been bowled over by its success. And now everyone is crying out for there to be similar events on a regular basis."

The event was organised by the business centre and Business Support and Development of Bedale.

The centre, run by Hambleton District Council, was opened in March last year. It accommodates 20 young and fledgling businesses in start- up units.
