THE show is over for two theatre usherettes who are retiring after working for a combined total of nearly 25 years.
Margaret Hawkins and Joan Adams are leaving the jobs they love at Darlington Civic Theatre to spend more time with their families.
Mrs Hawkins has worked there for 16 years, and Mrs Adams for eight, and during that time have worked at more than 1,800 shows.
The pair have also met many famous faces, including comedy duo Cannon and Ball, and Darlington's own Pop Idol, Zoe Birkett, who has just finished her stint in the Beauty and the Beast pantomime.
Both Mrs Hawkins and Mrs Adams said they were very sad to be leaving.
"We have loved working here and we don't want to go, but really it is time," said Mrs Hawkins.
