EXPERIMENTAL waiting restrictions were made permanent on January 1 and may be extended.

Applied at a Teesdale site, near Stockton, they were to address obstructive parking, which affected traffic movement and caused road safety concerns for pedestrians.

Following requests and consultation with businesses at Teesdale, extensions to the restrictions are proposed.

The closing date for objections is Friday, February 17.

Councillor Bob Cook, Stockton Borough Council's cabinet member for regeneration and transport, said the restrictions "have been successful in improving traffic movement and keeping the routes around Teesdale clear."
