MARTIN Scott has hailed the impact of his three Hartlepool loan signings.

Gerard Nash and Jon-Paul Pittman impressed in the weekend's draw at Swansea and were joined on the pitch in the closing stages by James Walker.

All three are at Hartlepool on a temporary basis as they enjoy their first taste of League One football.

Nash has moved from Ipswich, Walker from Charlton and Pittman from Nottingham Forest and Scott said: "They have all done extremely well for us.

"JP Pittman ran his socks off and caused them all sorts of problems all day and at the back Gerard looks as if he has been playing there for years.

"He has formed a great partnership with Micky Nelson and looks very accomplished.

"I very pleased for them all. They have come to get some League experience, and what an experience it was for them at Swansea to play in that sort of environment.

"We caused Swansea problems with JP's pace. We have watched him a few times and he has impressed.

"On his debut against Tranmere he came on late and caused problems. He's young and showed good strength of character.

"He's a threat, he's got power and no defender likes to play against those characteristics.''

Pool's reserves go to Hull tomorrow and Adam Boyd and Joel Porter could both be involved. Porter scored on his return from injury last week at Scarborough.

Boyd has not played since damaging knee ligaments in last September's home defeat to Yeovil.
