PUPILS at two schools are preparing to share their views on important issues with children around the world.
Hummersknott School and Language College, in Darlington, is partnered with School No 639 in St Petersburg, in Russia, which teaches children of primary and secondary age.
Between Thursday and next Friday, pupils and staff from the school will be visiting Darlington and living with families in the town.
In May, pupils from Hummersknot School and Abbey Junior School will make the return trip.
The older students at Hummersknott and School No 639 are working on an air pollution project, and, during the Darlington visit, will share their findings with a school in Germany, via a video link, ahead of an international conference in St Petersburg.
Abbey Junior School pupils are involved in a similar project focusing on healthy lifestyles and will discuss their findings with their Russian counterparts.
Cummins, in Darlington, is also involved in the project and will be giving a tour of the factory to the older students.
The factory makes diesel engines for companies around the world.
