A TEESSIDE pub is celebrating after it was named winter pub of the season.
The Causeway, in Stranton, Hartlepool, received the Cleveland Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) Pub of the Season award in recognition of its commitment to real ale and the consistently good condition in which the beer is served.
Following a presentation on Saturday, licensee Geoff Eccleshall said he was delighted to have won the award.
Mr Eccleshall has previously been awarded Pub of the Season and Pub of the Year in 1998 when he was licensee at The Globe, in Guisborough.
The Causeway had a string of licensees, before Mr Eccleshall took over in 1999 at the request of Camerons.
Since then, he has increased the range of real ales on sale from two to five, which include Camerons Strongarm, Banks's Bitter, Original, Marstons Old Empire and a guest beer.
