A SERIES of events are being held in Darlington to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
A service, led by the Reverend Robert Williamson from St Cuthbert's Church in the town, will be held in the central hall of the Dolphin Centre on Thursday from 2pm.
The theme of the national memorial day is "One person can make a difference," and the service in Darlington will include contributions from people around the borough who have helped their community.
The following day, Crown Street Library will promote the national event with displays at a tea and coffee morning, and next Monday, Darlington Arts Centre will be showing a film at 8pm called Everything is Illuminated.
The film follows the story of a young Jewish-American man who sets out to the Ukraine to find the woman who may have saved his grandfather from the Nazis and the Holocaust.
