A WRESTLING legend will step into the ring as Wrestle Zone Wrestling (wZw) returns to Shildon next month.
Johnny Kidd, who is known to many for his fights alongside the likes of Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, Mick McManus and Kendo Nagasaki during the sport's heyday, is the main attraction at Shildon Civic Hall on February 18.
Kidd, from Luton, is to lock horns with an unknown opponent who will be decided just the week before, when wZw is in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside.
The match will be the fifth show at Shildon in recent times, with another four planned for later in the year.
Co-owner of wZw, Carl Turner, said: "We are delighted to be bringing back a true wrestling legend to this part of the country, and especially to Shildon."
"We love the fans at Shildon, and every single performer enjoys the shows in the civic hall."
Also in action is local hero Iceman, who will defend his wZw heavyweight title. The Bishop Auckland-based wrestler has held the title for six months.
There will also be tag team and cruiser weight action. Doors open at 6.30pm, and the show will start at 7pm. Tickets cost £6 and can be bought on the night, or by visiting the website at www.wzwuk.com
