A CONCERT of popular music - from Mussorgsky to Shirley Bassey - is being held to raise money for charities supported by the Mayor of Darlington.
The Cobweb Orchestra, conducted by Andy Jackson, and the Darlington Orchestra, conducted by David Plews, will be performing at Darlington Arts Centre on Saturday, at 7.30pm.
A 70-strong ensemble will perform at the concert with special guests, including Janet Walke. Tickets are £10 and £8 for concessions.
All proceeds will go to the charities chosen by Mayor Stella Robson - Darlington Association on Disability, Family Help and the Darlington Music Festival.
Councillor Robson said: "There will be something in the programme for everyone and I hope many people come along to support the local performers and the charities."
