CONSERVATORY specialist Amdega last night rejected rumours of job cuts and said it expected to increase its workforce of 350 as it restructures.
The Northern Echo understands that workers are concerned about pay cuts and possible job losses at the Darlington company. The GMB union has been called in to help restructure the business and said it was confident about its future.
Amdega managing director Colin Taylor said that sales in the past quarter had exceeded expectations. He said: "One thing I can say categorically is that this time next year, we will employ more people than we do now.
