CHILDREN suffering from allergies can at last tuck into school meals in Middlesbrough.
In the past, children with severe peanut allergies were denied meals as the district council could not provide nut-free products.
But that policy has changed following requests from parents.
Angela Blower, council catering manager, said: "No product can carry a 100 per cent guarantee that they are nut-free, so we ask parents to work closely with the school and fill out and sign an individual agreement.
"This details the child's needs and helps the school know what to do if they have an allergic reaction."
