PLANS for 133 homes on a former nursery site in Knaresborough have been approved.
Barratt Homes Limited was granted planning permission by Harrogate Borough Council's planning committee to build the homes in Halfpenny Lane.
Planning officer Neville Watson had recommended approval and told the committee that affordable housing on the site was not affected because it had previously been approved.
The site is bordered by Halfpenny Lane, the former railway embankment and Breary Flat Lane. Hay-a-Park lies to the east of the land.
The site was previously used as a nursery and is within the development limits of Knaresborough.
Mr Watson told the meeting there were 22 different house types constructed in brick, render and tiles.
As a result of the development, football pitches will be provided at Hay-a-Park.
Mr Watson was asked what long-term protection the pitches would get and he responded by saying: "In perpetuity."
