A PUB will get into the spirit of Burns' Night next week when they host a Scottish-themed festival.
The Tawny Owl, near Hurworth, is commemorating the poet Robert Burns on Wednesday, and is hoping to entice customers to sample their Scottish produce.
The pub, in Neasham Road, will be decorated in tartan and some of Burns' most famous verses will be chalked on their blackboards. A tasting table of whiskies will be open and staff will also distribute sample-sized haggis.
Stuart Mann, landlord of the Tawny Owl, said: "People often think all whisky is the same, so this will give them the chance to taste some of Scotland's finest exports and compare them - we have compiled some notes to help.
"There will also be samples of haggis available, as, although the traditional celebration in Scotland revolves around haggis, the majority of British people have never tried the traditional delicacy."
