A CABBIE close to the limit for penalty points on his driving licence has had a severe warning from councillors in Darlington.
Paul Trenholm was told that any future motoring offences would see him being returned to face Darlington Borough Council's general licensing committee for a review of his licence.
A report to yesterday's meeting of the committee said Mr Trenholm, 34, of Brougham Street, Darlington, was warned by the authority's commercial and licensing manager over a speeding conviction in January 2004.
When he came to renew his licence last October, he did not have the document as it had been sent to court in connection with an appeal against another speeding conviction.
He contested the case, but Newton Aycliffe magistrates found him guilty and he was fined £75, with four penalty points.
When asked if he had any other convictions since the last issue of his licence, he said he had not and that all convictions had been dealt with.
But when he produced his re-issued licence, it was found an offence of failing to identify a driver had not been notified to the council.
The committee was told Mr Trenholm currently had ten points on his licence.
