TWO men are being hunted by police after a violent robbery at the home of an elderly man.
The incident happened at about 8am on Tuesday in Topcliffe, near Thirsk, when two men called at a house in East Lea.
As the elderly occupant opened the door, one of the men forced it wide and held the occupant's arms behind his back.
The other robber then went inside and stole a substantial amount of money from the living room.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who knows anything about the raid or who may have seen something suspicious, to contact them.
They are keen for information about two men carrying rucksacks, who were seen walking from the East Lea area towards a waiting silver car, possibly a Peugeot, which then drove off towards the Angel Inn.
Anyone who can help is asked to contact Northallerton CID on 0845 6060 247.
