LIBRARY staff will be enjoying a good read this week and are hoping users will do the same.
Staff at the Clayport Library, in Durham City, will read excerpts from favourite novels for visitors to enjoy as part of the award-winning library's work with the three-year BBC project Raw - Reading and Writing.
The project helps libraries and other reading agencies target "efficient" readers, to encourage them to read more and they're hoping people who come along to the free Classic Reads event will also read their own favourite pieces.
"The success of the recent BBC serial Bleak House shows that classic novels are still much loved," said Carol Attewell, from the library.
"Everyone is welcome to attend - especially if they bring along and read their own favourite excerpt."
The event starts at 11am on Thursday and refreshments will be available.
