A WOMAN who assaulted another woman in a bar has been given a conditional discharge.
Yesterday, Louise Mooney, 34, of West Auckland Road, Darlington, pleaded guilty to assaulting Lisa Cook in Route 66, on November 13 last year.
Darlington Magistrates' Court heard that Mooney, who had no previous convictions, got into an argument with Ms Cook, who she knew.
The women exchanged insults and then Mooney grabbed Ms Cook's hair and pulled her to the ground.
Mooney, who was not represented by a solicitor, said: "We were both as bad as each other.
"It was just one of those things, we were being daft."
Chairman of the bench, David Williams, handed Mooney a six month conditional discharge, ordered her to pay Ms Cook £25 compensation, and fined her £34 prosecution costs.
He said: "If you keep out of trouble for six months, you will hear no more about this."
