PLANS are under way to relaunch a Girl Guide group in a Teesdale village.
Leaders planning to set up the group in Middleton-in-Teesdale have been encouraged by the response to an open evening held this week.
The village has not had a Guide group for four years.
Jane Addison said: "The open evening went absolutely brilliantly.
"There were five girls who came, which may not sound like much, but was very, very good indeed.
"I'm hoping to get eight girls to begin with, which would make two packs, so we only need three more.
"When I started with the Brownies a few years ago there were only six and I've left them with 24."
The open evenings will continue throughout this month and it is hoped the group will be launched next month.
Girls aged between 11 and 15 are invited to attend the open evenings which are held on Wednesdays, in Middleton Primary School, from 6.15pm to 7.30pm.For details, call Ms Addison on 07969 842345.
