THE first screening of a new history of Lanchester is to take place in the village tonight.
The DVD was created from an idea by Eric Burns, who compiled a history of the village in pictures.
However, the work has now been turned into a DVD by Shotley Bridge-based North Point Multimedia, with a voice-over by Northern Echo photographer and radio presenter Brian Clough.
The DVD will be screened for the first time, at 7.30pm, in Lanchester Library, when the team behind the production will also be available to chat to anyone interested.
Copies of the DVD, priced £12.99, will be on sale on the night and all are welcome. Admission is free.
Anyone unable to attend on the night can order copies from www.lanchester village.co.uk, or by ringing (01207) 580921.
