VIOLINIST Andrew Watkinson is to make a welcome return to Durham City later this month.
The Glasgow-born musician will join the Durham Sinfonia for the performance at the city's Gala Theatre, at 7.30pm, on Sunday, January 22.
Mr Watkinson is a former pupil of the Yehudi Menuhin School and has also studied in Switzerland and Russia.
He is now leader of the Endellion String Quartet.
The performance will include Beethoven's Violin Concerto, Dvorak's Wind Serenade, and the Pulcinella Suite by Stravinsky.
The concert will provide the first opportunity for the public to hear the Durham Sinfonia conducted by Jamie Burton.
Tickets are £12, or £10 for concessions, while under-16s get in free, available on the night.
