SECURITY specialist 2020 Vision has signed a £120,000 deal with Northern Rock to upgrade its surveillance facilities.
2020 Vision, based in North Shields, North Tyneside will install a closed-circuit television control room at the mortgage lender's head office, in Gosforth, Newcastle.
Images and maps will be displayed on a 70-inch-video wall, as opposed to conventional television monitors that were previously in use.
Damon Kent, assistant director of premises at Northern Rock, said: "We're really excited about the revamp. We've always believed security is paramount to our business because of the high numbers of people present at our sites.
"The new control measures can only benefit our customers and staff alike."
The contract could lead to further work with Northern Rock, which plans to develop a £60m office complex at Rainton Bridge, Sunderland, with gym, restaurant and shops.
2020 Vision, which was established in 1992, will provide a similar control room upgrade for Newcastle University.
Company managing director Peter Houlis said: "Security has never been more important following the events of July 7. With the rapid social and economic development in the region, these measures reflect our commitment to ensuring a safe environment for all."
