THE fate of a car park earmarked for development will be decided at a meeting next month.
Councillors have agreed that a planning application for 14 flats on Yorke Square car park, in Richmond, should be discussed at a venue large enough to hold the crowds that are expected to attend.
The meeting will take place on February 22, but the venue has yet to be decided.
The car park is owned by Richmondshire District Council, which wants to sell the land to fund new headquarters in Colburn.
The proposed sale has attracted widespread criticism. An earlier meeting, at Richmond School, to discuss the sell-off was abandoned amid angry scenes when hundreds of people turned up.
