A youth MP is meeting a city council chief and other leaders in the region today.
Kevin Nicholson, who represents Darlington, and members of the youth partnership and youth service, are meeting Sunderland City Council leader Bob Symonds, and Grant Hollis, the city's youth MP.
Kevin will also get a chance to talk to young Asian people and enjoy a tour of the civic centre.
The group will visit Penshaw Monument, near Sunderland and meet Fraser Kemp, the MP for Houghton and Washington East.
This visit is an official public engagement on behalf of Darlington Borough Council.
The next elections for the Youth Parliament will be next month, and Kevin said: "I can't believe a year has nearly passed by - what a great year it's been.
"I have received tremendous support from groups and organisations within Darlington. I would like to thank all who have been involved.
