A YOUNG performing arts student has won tickets to a West End show.
Six-year-old Megan Lundberg, from Arkengarthdale, received the tickets after winning first prize in Stagecoach Theatre Arts' design a Christmas card competition.
Her card, featuring Rudolph and a Christmas pudding, was sent out to more than 25,000 children who attend Stagecoach classes.
Megan attends Stagecoach in Darlington on Saturdays.
The winning tickets are for a performance of Mary Poppins.
By coincidence, Megan and her sister, Lucy, won a fancy dress competition after dressing up as Mary Poppins and chimney sweep Bert in the summer.
Trudy Hindmarsh, the principal of Stagecoach Darlington, said: "The first I knew of Megan's success was when I saw the winning card design displayed on a poster at our annual conference in October.
"I thought it was cute, but then realised that one of my students had designed it and I was thrilled for her."
Lucy was a runner-up in the same competition.
Megan has been given a poster-sized copy of her design to keep.
