AN advanced driver who appeared in court on a speeding charge yesterday said she had been unsure how fast she had been travelling.
Emma Moll, 39, who said she needed her licence for work and to ferry her son to and from Great Ormond Street Hospital, in London, asked Harrogate magistrates not to ban her.
The mother-of-two, from Sutton Lane, Barmby Moor, near York, pleaded guilty to speeding at 94mph on the A1(M) at Boroughbridge, on October 17.
She said: ''I am embarrassed to say this, but I will. I am a RoSPA driver - I don't normally drive at that speed.''
Moll said she had been at the wheel of a hire car and had not realised how fast she was travelling.
''It is modern cars, you just don't realise," she said.
She was fined £300 with £45 costs and four penalty points.
