AMBULANCE crews have been given an exclusive parking bay in a North Yorkshire market town.
Paramedics say finding a parking space in Leyburn used to be pot luck until Leyburn Town Council donated the bay.
Paul Farthing, Tees, East and North Yorkshire Ambulance Service acting area manager, thanked the council, adding: "It will save us time, which means we shall be able to respond to emergencies as quickly as possible.
"It's also reassuring to the townspeople to have a readily visible ambulance in their midst."
Leyburn's Mayor, Councillor Ian Barker, said: "Bainbridge ambulance man Steve Munro mentioned there was a problem, so I put it to council and they unanimously agreed on a designated space."
