A DEVELOPER wants to build homes on the site of a former garage in Spennymoor.
Hall Construction Services has applied for planning permission to build ten houses and two apartments on the corner of Low Grange Road and Hartley Terrace.
A group of unused buildings occupying the site, which were formerly used as a vehicle repairs centre and showroom, would be demolished to make way for the homes.
The scheme would include two to four-bedroomed houses and two-bedroomed apartments to create a courtyard feel, with access off Hartley Terrace.
Highways officers at Durham County Council have called for improvement works to the junction with Durham Road, which have been included in the plan.
Sedgefield Borough Council's development control committee will discuss the plans at a meeting tomorrow.
Officers have recommended approval with a series of conditions, including a contribution of £8,400 by Hall Construction Services towards play facilities to benefit future residents and the wider community.
