TWO men entered a North-East takeaway, produced a handgun and demanded money from a member of staff in an attempted robbery in the region.
No money was handed over and the men ran off empty-handed when other workers appeared at Chopstix, in Allendale Road, Sunderland.
No one was injured during the incident, on Tuesday, at about 11.55pm.
The first man, who was carrying the gun, is described as 6ft, of stocky build, wearing a black padded, three-quarter length coat with hood, a red and white scarf over his face and blue jeans. He spoke with a local accent.
The second man is described as 6ft, of stocky build, wearing a navy padded jacket with hood and a two-tone scarf around his face, one of the colours being blue.
Both men ran off into the Farringdon estate.
