PRIMARY school youngsters proved they had the X Factor as they took to the stage to show off their talents.
Pupils from Coundon Primary School were the stars of their version of the television show which they put on to entertain family and friends.
The event mirrored the format of the real television show, with auditions and a final performance in front of three judges named Simon, Louis and Sharon.
But that is where the similarity ended, as the youngsters opted for an old-fashioned talent show.
The children worked hard to create their own acts, which included singer-dancers, boxers, magicians, martial artists, rollerbladers and musicians.
About 100 parents and supporters saw 13 acts compete, with the winner being Let it Blow, Let it Blow, Let it Blow, by Jillian Raw and Sarah Nelson, aged 11, playing cornet and euphonium.
Headteacher Ed Mitchell said: "This was a very special event because it was entirely led by the children.
"Apart from the odd bit of advice, the children themselves created and polished their own acts.
"They put on a winning performance.''
