AMATEUR footballers from Durham City are turning on the style thanks to a hair salon.
Wendy Buttleman, manager of the Toni & Guy salon in Prince Bishops Shopping Centre, has a sponsorship deal with the The Sporties six-a-side team - and they wanted to reward the players following a successful season.
The ten-man squad plays on Thursday nights and last season gained promotion to the premier division of the Soccarena League.
The players were under the spotlight when they played their first match in the higher division, sporting new hairstyles.
Team member Gary Greenhouse said: "We are dead chuffed to have won promotion to the next division.
"We are grateful to Toni & Guy for their support and the generous offer of the haircut.
"We're also very thankful to the Soccarena for generating such a well-organised and fun environment."
Nicola Metcalfe, style director at Tony & Guy, said: "We've gone for contemporary styles that we feel the professionals would be proud of."
