DESPITE scoring his first goal for the club on New Year's Eve, Tresor Kandol gave away few clues surrounding his future at Darlington.
The 24-year-old is due to return to Dagenham & Redbridge after today's League Two visit of Torquay United.
Dagenham are prepared to let Kandol move to the 96.6 TFM Darlington Arena on a permanent basis, but are demanding a fee, believed to be in the region of £50,000 for the former Luton Town forward.
And, while Kandol broke his Quakers goalscoring duck at the sixth attempt at the weekend, he is refusing to divulge whether or not he will be extending his stay in the North-East.
"All I can do is wait and see," said Kandol. "I've enjoyed my time up here, I've just scored my first goal for the club and we will take it from here.
"We have a game against Torquay on Monday, which I am looking forward to and that's all I am thinking about at the moment."
Kandol admitted he was relieved to finally open his Quakers account after an indifferent start to his loan spell at the club.
The striker was fined by manager David Hodgson last month for failing to report for training, having already failed to impress for Quakers.
But Kandol hopes Saturday's goal has gone some way in proving his doubters wrong.
"It's taken a while, but it's come just in time for the New Year," said Kandol. "That was just a little present from me to the club and to the fans. I'm really pleased.
"I was waiting for the first one to come and hopefully there will be a lot more goals to follow."
Despite losing strike partner Akpo Sodje - sent off in first half stoppage time - Kandol's 64th minute strike hauled Quakers back into contention at Sincil Bank.
"I have to admit that was one of the hardest games I've played in a long, long while," said Kandol. "We had to work extra hard when we were down to ten men.
"At half-time the gaffer said just go out there because we have nothing to prove.
"We battled hard and fortunately we got a result."
l Wycombe maintained their two-point lead at the top of League Two with a 2-1 win at Bristol Rovers.
Veteran striker Tommy Mooney struck twice for John Gorman's side, who have Grimsby and Leyton Orient chasing them in second and third.
Two second-half goals saw Grimsby come from behind to win 2-1 at Wrexham.
