A 29-YEAR-OLD man has been banned for two years for drink-driving.
Darlington magistrates also imposed a £200 fine on Jamie Welch, of Geneva Road, Darlington, who appeared in court yesterday.
He pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving without insurance and without a licence.
The court heard that the charges related to an incident on December 10.
Police saw Welch driving a Vauxhall Vectra in Neasham Road across the white lines in the centre of road.
When police stopped the car and gave a Welch a breath test, the result was postive.
A further sample at the police station showed Welch had 100 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Chris Bunting, mitigating, said: "It seems he has turned his life around in recent times."
He said Welch had set up his own business in block-paving.
Welch's driving ban could be reduced by six months if he completes a driver rehabilitation course.
He was given a further £100 fine and had six points added to his licence for driving without insurance. He was also ordered to pay £34 costs.
