MEMBERS of a social group for elderly residents in Crook enjoyed a Christmas lunch.
Crook Friendly Club, which has been running for 30 years, organised a festive meal at the Social Services building, in Croft Street.
Members meet there every Tuesday in the community room, between 11am and 3pm, and are offered a hot two-course meal, priced at less than £2, and afternoon tea and biscuits.
There is also bingo, dominoes, cards, a raffle and several minibus trips each year.
It is run by volunteers, and as resources are limited, members must be reasonably mobile and independent.
The club is open to new members - current ages range from 64 to 91. For details, call (01388) 767559 or (01388) 764878.
