A WOMAN who brought to life the memoirs of local war veterans in a community website has seen her efforts rewarded.
For King and Country, a site created by Marske woman Alison Small, has been featured as Pick of the Month for November by The Northern Echo's Internet initiative, CommuniGate.
The site, which lists war casualties from east Cleveland, was singled out because of the inclusion of photographs of soldiers who fell during the First World War.
War veterans from Skelton, Boosbeck, Charltons, Margrove Park and Lingdale are included on the site.
Mrs Small created her first website with the help of CommuniGate, two years ago.
Her original site is dedicated to Lingdale, in particular focusing on the life of her great-great grandfather, John Snowdon, who was a well-known figure in the community.
Her efforts have won Mrs Small a digital camera, courtesy of Darlington firm Sales and Marketing Services.
The site can be found at www.communigate.co.uk/ne/forkingcountry.
Anyone with information for inclusion on the site can contact Mrs Small on (01642) 488546.
