TWO men have been charged over the shooting of a man at a shop in Newcastle.
Karl Glendinning, 28, of Chestnut Avenue, and Ashif Azam, 39, of Denton Road, both Newcastle, have been charged with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.
A 40-year-old man was shot in the leg as he left the VG Shop in Thorntree Drive.
It happened on May 16 as he returned to his car.
The attacker then got into a blue Seat Ibiza, which was later abandoned in St Cuthbert's Road.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries although his condition was not life threatening.
The two accused will appear before Newcastle magistrates on December 23.
