A Teesside man has been ordered by magistrates to mend his ways.
Sean Fairweather, 29, who lives in Billingham, has been made the subject of a criminal anti-social behaviour order (Crasbo).
The two-year order follows a string of thefts from the town's shops and abusive behaviour towards their staff.
Under the terms of the Crasbo, imposed by Teesside Magistrates, Fairweather must not behave in a manner likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress, drink alcohol in a public place, or carry an open container of alcohol.
Solicitor Dennis Chisman, representing Fairweather, told magistrates his client recognised he had a problem with alcohol, for which he is receiving treatment.
Sarah Graham, a community safety officer with Stockton Borough Council's anti-social behaviour team, said afterwards: "This individual has been a persistent source of annoyance and distress to people visiting and working in the shops in Billingham Town Centre."
