PARALYMPIC athlete Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson visited Cleveland Fire Brigade's Prince's Trust young people who are trying to turn their lives around.
The programme, delivered in partnership with Stockton Riverside College, is a 12-week personal development programme, delivered to young people aged 16 to 25, to enable them to develop their confidence, motivation and communication skills through a series of projects and challenges.
Team leader Karen Duncan said: "We have delivered four teams up to now in Redcar, all being extremely successful. The team we have at the moment has organised for a group of disabled youngsters to go flying and has decorated Brotton Community Centre."
Mrs Grey-Thompson said: "I visited the brigade at the start of this year and saw the fantastic opportunities the brigade offered to its young community.
"It is so important to grab every opportunity to improve your prospects and get the most out of your life."
