YOUNGSTERS are celebrating after winning a Christmas competition at a newsagent.
Pupils from Cockton Hill Infant School, in Bishop Auckland, designed Christmas cards that are now on display at Chribec News in Cockton Hill Road.
They were judged by a customer, and the winners each received a prize from the store's owner, Gillian Jones.
In first place was Bethany Smythe, with Georgia Stephenson in second place and Craig Carr in third.
The newsagent and school link up each year for the competition, while a similar event is held at Easter.
Headteacher John Redman praised the work of the youngsters.
He said: "We try to teach them the true meaning of Christmas, that it's not all about presents. The cards are lovely and it's a great idea to have a customer judge them."
