YOUNGSTERS have shown off their skills to Teesside's professional basketball team.
More than 350 primary school children from Middlesbrough and Hartlepool gathered at Eston Sports Centre to take part in a basketball fun day, organised by Hoop Dreams, a Middlesbrough-based social inclusion project.
Wednesday's event was to introduce young people to basketball to instil the values of teamwork, leadership and healthy living.
It included a series of coaching sessions run by the Hoop Dreams staff where youngsters had the opportunity to hone their skills under the watchful eye of the Teesside Mohawks.
The afternoon session included competitions and tournaments.
The Mohawks then demonstrated their skills by putting on a display of tricks and slam dunks for the young people.
Jason Budd, operations manager, said: "It has been a really enjoyable day. Everyone that came just loved it. It was the first time we have done it on this scale and it has gone really well."
