A COMMUNITY resource centre has been officially reopened following a £300,000 refurbishment.
The centre, in St James' Hall, Boroughbridge, now has a refreshment area, new IT facilities with free Internet access and new meeting rooms.
It also stocks £12,000 of new books, DVDs and videos. Younger children have their own dedicated area with a new range of books and story tapes.
The centre also has toilets and baby-changing facilities, and full wheelchair access.
Opening hours have been extended to include Wednesdays. The centre is now open from 2pm to 5pm, on Mondays, 2pm to 7pm, on Tuesdays and Fridays and 10am to 1pm, on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Councillor Michael Heseltine, chairman of North Yorkshire County Council, performed the opening ceremony.
