A WOMAN needed hospital treatment after she was sexually assaulted on Teesside.
The victim, who is in her 30s, was grabbed from behind while walking along Broadway West, in Dormanstown, Redcar, on Wednesday, at about 5.20pm.
She was dragged into an alleyway behind the Fairway pub and was assaulted.
The victim suffered cuts and bruises before managing to break free and run off in the direction of Westfield Way.
She was treated for her injuries at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, and was later discharged.
Her attacker is described as 5ft 7in, white, in his late 20s to early 30s, thin to medium build with dark hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt with a design on the front and dark jacket.
Detective Sergeant Jon Green, of Redcar Police, said: "This was a particularly worrying incident, which potentially could have being far worse.
"I feel sure that given the time of day the attack occurred, someone must have seen something which may assist us in identifying this man."
Anyone with information is asked to call Det Sgt Green on (01642) 302626 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
