PLAYERS from Darlington Football Club are hoping to march up the league table after regimental preparations for this weekend's match.
The Quakers first team squad trained at Catterick Garrison, in North Yorkshire, to coincide with the launch of a scheme.
Forces personnel who produce a Ministry of Defence identity card will be admitted to matches at the 96.6TFM Darlington Arena for the discounted price of £5 each.
While at the base, the players went through their usual training routine ahead of Saturday's game against Grimsby, under the gaze of military top brass.
Club manager David Hodgson, said: "As part of the build-up to the Grimsby game, I thought it would be good for the lads to have a change of scenery and do something a little bit different.
"We would like to thank the Army for providing us with the training facilities, and hope some of them will come over on Saturday to watch us in action."
Warrant Officer Gary Paxton said: "It was great to see the Darlington players using the camp for training.
"I am sure many of the soldiers will return the compliment and go and support the Quakers on Saturday using the MoD card scheme.
"We have always had good links with the club and we wish Darlington all the very best of luck."
