AN elderly woman required hospital treatment for a broken right wrist and cuts to her head after being knocked down by a car.
The 78-year-old woman, who has not been named, was struck by the car as she crossed the High Street, Marske, east Cleveland, on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened in the westbound lane of the road, outside the Teesside Hospice shop.
The pensioner, who was knocked to the ground in the collision, was taken to Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital.
Witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 1.25pm, are asked to call Cleveland Police on (01642) 301554.
