A PEACE light brought all the way from Bethlehem has arrived at a North-East hospital's chapel.
The candle was delivered to the Chapel of the Good Samaritan at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, by members of a local Scout group and will continue to burn until the Epiphany on January 6.
The journey of the peace light begins in Bethlehem in the cave beneath the Church of the Nativity, the birthplace of Jesus. It was brought to the hospital by Kimberley Galloway, 19, and Shaun Bird, 14, from the 4th South Bank Scout Group.
Trust chaplain Philip Carrington said: "By receiving the light and all it stands for into our lives and sharing it with others, we will be spreading the peace and goodwill of the first Christmas. Maybe our world will be a little better because of it."
