TWO new events have been announced as part of the Fridays for Libraries scheme in Darlington.
The initiative is run by Darlington Borough Council to prove there is more to the borough's libraries than borrowing books.
Community and action groups have been invited to attend the Friday sessions, to talk about their work and encourage more people to visit the Crown Street library, in the town centre.
The next Fridays for Libraries session will take place this week, at 10am.
Jane King, from the town's Patient and Public Involvement Forum, will be at the library to talk to visitors and explain her work in the health service.
The following Friday, December 23, a Christmas coffee morning will be held.
New books for loan from the library will be on show and staff will be on hand to give advice on what is on offer.
Both sessions are free.
