HARROGATE District Hospital has identified a potential site for a multi-storey car park which could cost about £3m.
It would be between the front of the foundation trust NHS hospital and the exit from the main car park, next to Willaston Crescent.
The multi-deck car park, which is a long-term aim of the hospital, would provide up to 240 extra spaces, with accommodation underground and overground.
If the scheme goes through, it could be ready by the end of 2007 or the beginning of 2008.
Meanwhile, the hospital is pressing ahead with plans for between 40 and 50 extra spaces for staff parking on the Willaston Crescent overflow car park, in a bid to encourage more staff to park on site.
